My teenage
son went through all the religious school classes had a bar mitzvah and was confirmed and
yet didn’t really feel connected to Judaism. He traveled to
Israel and that
changed. He
was so taken by all the Israelis who just treated him as one of them. He told
me it was the first
time in his life that everyone around him who didn’t even know
him made him feel he was
welcome, one of the people. My trip to Israel felt much the same, they had my
back they
understood my core values. I’m proud to be
Jewish and I stand with Israel.
