I was fortunate enough to go to Israel as part of the Rubin Israel
experience and I can honestly say it changed my life. I can still remember
stepping out of the airport into the strong Israeli sunshine and feeling like I
was Home.
I have so many amazing memories but one of my favorite is sitting in an ancient
orthodox synagogue on Shabbat morning in Jerusalem. I was sitting on the
women’s side listening to the service. I turned to look through the beautiful
stone arched window to my left and the view literally took my breath away. The
shutters were open to let in the warm breeze, and I sat there gazing at the
walls of the old city, almost in disbelief that I was actually there. I
remember thinking I will never forget this moment, and I never have.
